Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are you the person who will show up and take the pictures?

A. Yes. I do not contract or hire other photographers to shoot for me.

Q. Do we get to keep the image files?

A. Yes. You will get a high-resolution file of every image I shoot, excluding those that have been rejected for aesthetic reasons (closed eyes, unflattering, etc.). The images are NOT watermarked or in any way diminished and are suitable for reprints and enlargements.

Q. Do we get an album?

A. Yes. A high-quality professional album is included with every wedding. The album size will vary depending upon the number of components you book: one or two components, 24 pages; three components, 36 pages; four components, 48 pages. You have the opportunity to determine the layout of each page of your album, including which photos are placed where.

Q. Do you make a DVD slideshow of our photographs?

A. Yes, a DVD slideshow is available with your choice of photographs and music. You can view a sample [HERE].

Q. What happens if you are sick on our wedding day?

A. I have two local photographers to whom I am comfortable deferring in case of an emergency.

Q. What about poses? Do we have to give you a list of poses we want?

A. No, unless there is something specific you want to try, such as a pose you may have seen at another wedding or in a wedding magazine, or a particular family member or guest that you wish to include. There is no need to list "a picture of the bride and groom", or " the bride with her bridesmaids"; these are standard fare. My craft is interpreting your relationship - and I have a process through which I work to accomplish this - and turning that interpretation into unique images.

Q. I have a family member who loves to take pictures, and will be following us around for the day. Do you mind if they take pictures too?

A. Absolutely no problem whatsoever. I will be happy to accomodate the needs of your guests.

Q. What if it rains?

A. Rain is a fact of life in Vancouver. There are many locations available in which to shoot in case of inclement weather. Apart from being good luck, rain can provide an opportunity for fun pictures. I cannot guarantee you good weather, but I can assure you of great pictures, rain or shine!

Q. Do you shoot film or digital?

A. I made the transition to the use of digital equipment several years ago when the quality reached that of film. It opens up many creative possibilities for me that were unavailable using my tradtional equipment. I am very comfortable in the digital realm, having owned and operated a graphic design firm for more than 15 years.

Q. Is digital quality as good as film?

A. For all intents and purposes, yes. As of this writing (January 2009) the resolution of professional-caliber digital equipment matches, and in some cases exceeds, that of film.
